Living in Mexico, Cristerna has undergone nearly 50 body modifications. She claims that 99 percent of her body is covered in tattoos, which earned her a title from Guinness World Records as the most tattooed woman in the world.
Her journey started early—she got her very first tattoo when she was just 14. Not long after, she went on to study and earn a degree in criminal law, showing there’s more to her than meets the eye.
She saw modifying her body as a way to reclaim power and express her freedom. Since then, she’s added dozens of modifications, including splitting her tongue and having bumps implanted into her head to resemble a crown.
Even though some people call her a real-life vampire, Cristerna makes it clear that she doesn’t drink blood—unlike some who fully lean into the fantasy of being supernatural creatures.

She said: “The advice I would give is that you have to think about it a lot as it is irreversible.”
“I love the way I look, but you have to understand that there are young people who are very open to tattoos and piercings and everything.”
While getting dramatic body modifications might feel exciting in the moment, it’s important to think about what that will mean years down the line—like when you’re older and your body changes with age.
Despite her warnings, Cristerna says she plans to continue adding tattoos and body modifications for as long as her health allows. It’s something she truly loves and feels connected to.

Another example is an Instagram model who went through eye tattooing and ended up temporarily blind for three weeks. She described crying blue tears for two days straight after what she called a ‘torturous procedure.’
To complete the look, she had to endure four separate injections into each eye. She described the feeling as if shards of glass were being scraped across her eyeball every single time.
